High level sportsman
Ultra Trail
Runner for 40 years, Ultra trailer for 20 years, this sport has become a way of life. It involves a permanent reflection on the balance of life so that I can give the best of myself on international events that sometimes last more than 24 hours.
I found in Ariège birch sap an important support which in addition to allowing me in three weeks an excellent mineral leveling, accompanies and boosts my effort the D-day, then helps me to resume my activity quickly.
Better sleep in the pre-competitive period, better recovery after the big sessions, the Ariege birch sap prepares me to approach my objectives with confidence and efficiency.

post race reports on the use of our birch sap
29 May 2022 - Post Race Cami de Cavall's in Menorca, 185 km / 3300m+:
It was obviously very interesting.
First of all, there was a first week of adaptation, the time necessary to find the pleasant solution to drink the beverage. That is to say that drinking cold in the morning when I wake up is not the best way to start. I usually drink a lemon juice diluted in half a glass of warm water.
So I put the bottle in a water bath to consume warm and it was great.
At the end of the first week, I start to decrease my sleep time. It's just a remark which is confirmed the following week. On the training side, nothing special.
At the end of the second week, I get up earlier, in shape, with the desire to do something! That is to say, I really want to go for a run and schedule some extra cycling, or even lengthen my sessions. That's what I do, without any increase in performance, but without any increase in load, which is still a plus.
At the end of the cycle, I still load as much, and moreover I improve my time of passage in coast (compared to the beginning of the cycle, up to 5 to 6 %).
Par ailleurs, je dois diminuer mon entraînement durant deux jours afin de surcompenser juste avant mon échéance “Cami de Cavalls”, et il s’en suit une forme au top du top.
Concerning the race, I started serenely, happy that it was very hot, because I usually run well, and the shape of the moment makes me feel confident. Indeed, the cardio doesn't go up too much, I run very regularly without knowing a single down time. I have to say that this is quite frequent for me, but with the heat (31°), I feel that I was at the top level in terms of mineral load. No discomfort on the food and digestive side, it was a very linear effort.
In the end, I finished with more than 2 hours of advance on the second, then I recovered very well, without aches and pains (quite usual for me, but there again after a prolonged effort in the heat it is excellent).
I did not change my recovery protocol, i.e. cycling on the 4th and 5th day, then running on the 7th. On the other hand, I resumed running with more distance, without any apparent muscle fatigue, which is unusual.
In short, an optimization of the recovery metabolism, hence a shorter sleep, a top mineral recharge, an improvement of the anaerobic capacities (in connection with my training in the heat), accompanied by a great desire to train and convincing results.
I remain at your disposal to exchange.
Thank you!

As far as sleep is concerned, I noticed a better sleep after one week of treatment, then the duration of sleep decreased by about 1 hour, as previously with Cami de Cavalls.
This phenomenon still lasts, almost 3 weeks later.
Muscularly, I am not used to having pains but after a good volume I felt relaxed too; a good sign of fast recovery.
As far as motivation is concerned, the cure produces a boost on the mind, thanks to the good balance it brings. The desire to lengthen the duration of the sessions or to follow them more copiously is clear, and this towards the fortnight of the cure.
Before the cure, I totaled 105 hours of training between August 10 and September 10, with the feelings of fatigue that go with it. The cure from September 22 to October 13 allowed me to train 104 hours between September 10 and October 10, with a better assimilation this time. I estimate on a scale of 1 (nothing) to 5 (a lot) the benefits carried between 3 and 4.
During the race, it is still in the second phase of the race that I feel a difference. Like Cami de Cavalls, the end of the race is not a problem to get the machine going again.
After the ordeal, first hike only 3 days later. The legs don't really respond, I'm slow, but without pain. Back to trail running after 6 days, for 1h cool, without discomfort and at a slow pace, still a good sign. The bike came back on the 5th day, perfect.
The nights are always very pleasant, in one go (except for urinating) and restorative. I know from experience that in a few weeks they will become a bit choppy again.
With kind regards,
Antoine
